Good Morning

New roads make longboarders giddy inside, the anticipation of hitting fresh asphalt on a new descent is what friends talk about and plan around. With the Olympics coming to Vancouver and Whistler there has been a ton of construction, the highlight for us is the new section of road along the Sea-to-sky highway.

Some of the guys at Landyachtz were so stoked on hitting this freshly paved beauty that they woke up well before the crack of dawn to be the first to hit it, a couple days after its opening.

Even with all of the stoke, sometimes a new road doesn't turn out to be what you thought it would be. Every crew has been there, one guy scopes out the road, talks it up, tells everyone its epic and gets everyone out there together to skate it. The road is no screaming hell, but so what, you're out with your friends being active, and most importantly skating together.

This instance was no different, the road was cool, but no press release was needed. What turned out to be really rad was the housing complex next to the highway. Steep streets winding down the mountain side, great high speed carving and drifting territory. Good times!

The moral of the story here is, just go skate it. Check out new roads, go explore new and different neighborhoods, tell your buddies about that one you saw somewhere, do a little homework and get out there for fun!
