SKATEBOARD TRUCKS - EXPLAINED

When you have a background in racing you really start to think of ways you can refine a product and optimize its’ performance. Just because something is good enough doesn’t mean we’re satisfied with it.

Bear Trucks:
Engineered for Every Terrain

Every detail in a Bear truck has been purposefully engineered to provide you with the best possible truck available. It takes a lot of work to create a solid set of skateboard trucks. Every truck we design goes through a rigorous testing process at our in house design lab.

We do our best to break trucks, stress test them and analysis the metals in each production run. All this happens before our team gets out and skates them in the real world. The result is a strong, purpose built truck that look and feel amazing. Bear engineers trucks for carving, cruising, street, downhill and racing.

Landyachtz founded Bear trucks in order to further improve the riding experience provided by our boards. Strength and precision manufacturing were key limiting factors in the trucks available in the early 2000’s. They would often bend and break while skating, holding us back from maximum fun and innovation.

To achieve our goals of providing the best feeling and performing trucks in the world we invest hundreds of hours in research and development. Understanding and mastering the capabilities of the materials and manufacturing process has provided us an edge when creating the best trucks.

Finer details make a big difference. Through all our truck models we machine our axles to have the tightest bearing fit and thread length. This ensures both bearings are riding tightly on the axle, eliminating all sloppiness which provides a smoother, more predictable ride.

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
