The Top Cat features our most complex board design, created specifically to get you close to the ground while cruising, carving and sliding. Easy to push and hard carving, it’s the result of years of development creating an incredibly capable, all-new model for 2023. The most rocker we’ve ever built into a board creates a surfy, slidy longboard that is truly unique in the world. The graphic is see through, reveling veneers dyed in red, yellow and blue creating a 5 color fade. This technique guarantees that every deck is completely one of a kind. One of our favorite aspects of the ride is bouncing it off the ground while carving. As the graphic scrapes away, it reveals more colors, creating an ever-changing look. Kicktail

The perfect middle ground, enough concave that you always feel glued to your board, but not too much to hurt your feet during a longer cruise.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

All new for 2023, the Top Cat is a rockered, tapered, top mounted drop-deck that destroys any terrain you throw at it. The board is slightly wider at the front than it is at the back to give you lots of leverage over the front truck. The dropped flatform provides a snug pocket for your feet at the ends of the board, and combined with the aggressive rocker, this board is low to the ground which makes it stable and easy to push long distances. The concave is very mellow and curves up towards the chamfered edges very gradually. Your feet will have a nice firm contact with the board, leaving you with a secure feeling and lots of confidence when riding. You get classic wheelbite cut-outs that historically appear on drop deck style boards, which provide you with the wheel clearance you need to run anything 72mm & under, and they give the board a pleasing shape, curving outwards from the mounting area and joining up harmoniously with the standing platform to complete the shape of the board. The truck mounting area at the nose and tail do not have any drop through mounting options; this board is purely top mount for added control and precision, also increasing the grip you get out of this board. The extreme shape of the board is likely to have a little more of a twist than other models, but when you’re on the board, the flex ensures a straight ride.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Top Cat delivers!

This is a high quality board with impeccable construction. Heavily rockered for low centre of gravity and easy pushing. Yet its top mounted truck allow for precise carving and leverage compared to a dropthrough truck. Wide with mild concave, the board feels very comfortable. The design and combination of trucks and wheels make it a very stable board. The Plow Kings are excellent wheels for the street.
