The big brother of the Dinghy, the Tugboat provides the same smooth-rolling, hard-carving experience in a package a little better suited to riders with bigger feet or who are looking for a slightly more stable ride.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

A wider and slightly longer version of the Dinghy, the Tugboat comes in at 30" long and 9" wide for a super solid, stable feeling ride. The wider platform is ideal for riders with larger feet who are looking for a comfortable cruiser board experience. The extra meat also inspires confidence and gives you more platform to land on when doing tricks on larger obstacles. The Tugboat is pressed with 7 plies of Canadian maple for a light, stiff and poppy ride. This version features one of our new UV activated graphics that change colour when exposed to sunlight. It comes set up with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for maximum stability and leverage. 60mm 78a Chubby Hawgs wheels finish off the setup and ensure you'll have a smooth ride with plenty of roll speed and grip without having to worry about wheelbite.

Flex Rating

Flex has a big impact on the overall feel of your board and is influenced by a bunch of different factors. The main ones being thickness of the deck, it's wheelbase and rider weight. To put the equation in laymans terms: more flex occurs when you decrease thickness of the deck, increase the wheelbase and increase rider weight. The more flex in your board the more carvy and agile it'll feel, less flex means it's more stable and suited for faster skating. We test every complete with a device we built in house, specifically to standardize flex ratings.

Wonderful cruise with wheel upgrade

Great for short range cruising. The deck is wide enough for comfortable ride, while the wheelbase is just right for people who downsize from traditional long board. I felt a bit longer wheelbase at 18 might help the overall stability and be more friendly to beginners. That said, for who started from street board, the overall feel could be more favourable. Lastly a wider wheel helps a better cruise experience for normal street conditions. I changed mine to ez hawg, and then to Fat Free 65mm, and I enjoyed the board a lot!
