One Board One Tree

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

DROP THROUGH

Drop through decks are lower to the ground and enjoy increase stability without sacrificing maneuverability.

LOW CAVE

Mellow concave that barely feels like it’s there, but designed to give you the control you need, when you need it.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SYMMETRICAL

Go both ways with symmetrical board design. Generally found in freeride and downhill decks, these boards allow the rider to skate both regular and switch without changing up their stance.

The Drop Hammer is a symmetrical drop-through longboard measuring 36.5" long and 10" wide. Its low ride height makes it an ideal city commuter and its medium concave and reasonably stiff construction make it a perfect board for an introduction to freeriding and carving on bigger hills. The Drop Hammer has been modified slightly for 2020 to work with the new Grizzly Gen 6 180mm trucks for maximum turning and super deep carves. 69mm 78a Hawgs finish the set up off for super smooth slides.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Forgiving board for a beginner, without sacrificing the thrill!

I’m in love! This is my first board and is such a smooth ride. I haven’t made any adjustments yet to the standard setting because I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing haha but she turns easy, feels solid under my shaky legs, and is GORGEOUS.

Cannot wait to build confidence on this board and am looking forward to collecting another Landyachtz!

Great board.

I’m new to longboards. But not new to the hand eye coordination needed. That said I was able to get some decent time in and I felt more at home on another board I own. The board tracks very easily. And yet the bearings feel slow imo. The magneto board is just faster. Overall I really enjoyed this board the art work is beautiful

The bearing are a bit loose for my size and weight. I have stiffer ones to through in. But right out of the box controlling the board was super difficult. I even tightened the trucks. That could just be a weight thing. Idk maybe too because the board is more stiff and doesn’t flex as much.

I Love My Drop Hammer

As a 51 year old long-boarder, I gravitate to my Hammer for the most fun for me. I have several LY boards. I find the Drop Hammer to be a perfect combination of all. It is agile, yet stable. I have the most confidence riding my Hammer.

My favorite thing to do is wake up early, go to the park and loose myself as I surf my worries away.

I’ve been checking out the Ripper lately at our skate shop. It will be my next board. I feel it will be the best board to transition for me. I can wait for my wife to let me buy it.

I purchased my first slide gloves from LY. I bought the Bling and love them. Did my first push-up slide with them and I’m getting a lot better sliding. I love it.

Thanks Landyachtz for your great YouTube videos and tutorials. Thanks for making great quality boards. I will always be a LY guy.
