With a board as wild as this, we thought it deserved a wild graphic as well. We don’t know where Alejandro Sordi came up with the idea to include a keyboard in this graphic, but it’s not the only keyboard in our lineup so we’re clearly big fans! The graphic isn’t the only trick this board has up its sleeve though, it also has an extremely unique shape, tons of rocker and a super low drop-through design for the ultimate longboard experience. This larger, directional drop-through longboard comes in at 38" long by 9.9" wide. 8 ply construction in a board of this size results in a tiny amount of dampening flex which works to smooth out your ride on any rougher roads while still being stiff enough to handle some speed and sliding. This board also has a healthy dose of rocker and aggressive concave to keep your feet comfortable and locked in place while freeriding. You will notice the flares starting to rise as your foot nears the four corners of the standing platform, which gives you great reference points, so you know exactly where your feet are without looking down. The longer wheelbase and larger turning circle of the 38” version of the Drop Cat means that you can savor each carve a little more and utilize a laid back, flowy riding style. Having a wider standing platform also allows you to spread your feet out more which makes it easier to balance and makes this board slightly more predictable than the smaller 33” version. The Drop Cat comes equipped with our flagship 50-degree 180mm Grizzly Gen 6 trucks ideal for deep carves and confident cruising as well as some big 72mm 78a Plow King wheels for a smooth, fast and super grippy ride.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out and see what you like the most!

tons of fun

I am late (61years old) to skateboarding and not very good at it but am having fun trying. The Drop Cat 38 is a lot of fun, the concave deck locks your feet in. It supports my 205 lbs fine. The stock wheels are very good at eating up rough pavement and small rocks. They seem as good as the 85 mm Caguama wheels I put on after.

Perfect longboard for shorter humans

This board and set-up is awesome right out of the box. Super smooth and fast, however beginning skaters may want to tighten the trucks until they feel comfortable.

My only “complaint” is that I didn’t get any stickers or a bingo card! That being said I’m seriously considering buying the 38” too.

DO IT!

I cannot say enough good things about this board! I love looking at it almost as much as riding it. It's so much fun to carve on this board. I'm going to buy another to hang on the wall, so I'll have another when I wear this one out.

Sick board

I really love this board. When I take my dogs on a walk, I take this board and let them pull me like a dog sled. As a beginner it didnt take me long to gain confidence on the drop cat 38. I highly recommend the Drop Cat 38.
