We decided that the Ripper needed a little more Landyachtz love, so we stacked up some letters and ended up with the Ripper Logo graphic. Who knows where else we might use this graphic, but we know it looks sweet on the Ripper and the colorway is a straight up vibe that we hope everyone enjoys! The Ripper is a great board for getting around town, throwing down some sweet manuals, busting some slides or just cruising the neighborhood with some friends.

One Board One Tree

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

Kicktail

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

MEDIUM CAVE

The perfect middle ground, enough concave that you always feel glued to your board, but not too much to hurt your feet during a longer cruise.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

The Ripper shares a similar concept to the Dipper; It’s great for carving, cruising, commuting long distances, feels great for sliding and has a nice bouncy flex. This board is a little bit wider compared to the Dipper and we went with slightly wider truck options to follow suit. The 9” width and subtle taper means that the Ripper has a lot of standing platform which gives your feet a lot of purchase making it quite comfortable for sliding. The larger standing platform in conjunction with the wider trucks give good stability and leverage. Lean deep into your turns on this board and enjoy nice long carves. The measurements are a 36.9” length with a wheelbase of 24.9”. The Ripper comes complete with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for a nice low ride perfect for relaxing cruises, and 63mm Fatty Hawgs wheels to keep you rolling smooth and fast over all types of surfaces.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out and see what you like the most!

First Board, And It's Great!

I used to skate a long time ago, when I was maybe 12. I never had any at all decent quality boards. I decided, in order to get out a bit more while getting a little work in, to give it a go again. This being my first board in years I don't have anything to compare it to, but after the last few months of trying it out, learning to fall all over again, and taking it across my town, I can say confidently this is far better than anything I used to skate, and surprisingly fun.

If I could I probably would've got a board a bit smaller, but other than that it's perfect in all aspects.

I like her.

Riding for the first time in my sister’s Tallahassee neighborhood.

I’ve been accustomed to the Drop Hammer for a long time . More recently, I’ve been riding a pintail with Original surf skate trucks. I like riding a top mount now..

I’ve had my eye on the Ripper for awhile Momma Bear let me buy it for Christmas.

I love the ride. She is fast and stable. I have performed my best glove slides with her.

I have been naturally pushing switch more. The deck’s width and shape helps me balance goofy.

Riding smaller trucks than the DH is a noticeable change . For this reason, I will investigate the even smaller trucks with the Dipper.

I’ve been using LY’s Bling slide gloves. They are comfortable and well designed.

awesome board!

I set these up with a wedged RKP in the front and a dewedged RKP in the back.

It is a carving, cruising, and pumping machine! Along with some EZ Hawgs I also have a fun board to do some light freeriding!

I definitely recommend this for your quiver!
