The Drop Hammer is a symmetrical drop-through longboard measuring 35″ long and 10″ wide. Its low ride height makes it an ideal city commuter and long distance push setup. With traditional style Polar Bear trucks, it has a slower less tippy turn. Great for long cruises. 73mm 78a Plow Kings finish the set up off for fast, super smooth skating.

Great Board
It's clearly a high quality board. You'll need to buy a skateboard tool to make it turn more easily. No need to replace the bearings, the longboard gains speed even on tiny inclines! The longboard is shorter than others I've experienced. Not ideal for me, but it does keep it more lightweight. I realized this kind of longboard isn't the best for me. It cannot sufficiently make sharp sidewalk turns and the streets around me are *super* bumpy to the point my feet feel like they're going numb. I wish I had more of a tail board and one better for sidewalks, but since it's dirty I cannot return it. Plus it costs a $75 restocking fee to return. These wheels do handle little rocks well though!

Extremely smooth ride
I only had normal skateboards before this, but I really only want to ride around, and I've been trying to do that with my normal skateboard, which has been pretty painful. I couldn't believe how smooth the ride is on this. I love riding this board. I used to snowboard a lot, and it feels like that. I couldn't believe how smoothly it goes over sidewalk cracks and how smooth the ride is on the road. So yeah I haven't any other longboard to compare it with, but I'm very happy with it.

I haven't ridden since I was a teenager. I got the bug one day and started doing some research. The Drop Hammer came recommended as a good beginner board. It's not quite as maneuverable as I remember my smaller boards but I'll get used to it. This is such a well-made product! Very happy with my purchase.

This is my second drop hammer, and third LY board in total. They were all dope. I dont even skate like that. when im riding around with homies who actually do, and they can't keep up with me. Thats saying something. Much love to the LY team.

Great board, carves very well, very smooth riding too. Only question is the integrity, it chipped with a slight bump. I don't know how long this deck will last, and I'm hoping to keep it in one piece since I'm on a budget. Overall, the best longboard I have ever had so far.

My teen loves this board!
First longboard as a complete beginner and my teen is really enjoying riding this several days a week at Montgomery whitewater! Very happy with it and have several others asking where he got it so they can order one as well. Love the design! It was the main reason I picked out this longboard for him as I had no clue which one to get him and the fox design is awesome!

Bought this specifically for the red fox design!
We purchased 2 longboards, one was this one because of the red fox design on it, but my teen son actually prefers how the switchblade 40 feels and rides for a beginner he feels more stable and comfortable on the other board. But this design was so much cooler. This ends up being the board that goes with him in the car everywhere for him to use when we are around town or at Montgomery whitewater to ride around their paved areas. Would be awesome to have this design available on other boards as an option so we don’t have to choose between cosmetics vs what he’s more comfortable riding on. We are a complete beginner starting from scratch so we do not have a knowledgeable review on specs etc just our personal experience and how he finds the switchblade 40 length and grooves for his feet easier and more secure feeling for him to learn on then this one.

With my 60kg the board has a nice and decent flex so it is not stiff or wobbly. I love the simple shape and it is realy fun to slide. I use it to get to the train station and stuff like that, carve some nice hills and practice sliding. It's all I asked for!

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

 

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

 

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

 

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
