Ripper – Logo

Ripper – Logo

We decided that the Ripper needed a little more Landyachtz love, so we stacked up some letters and ended up with the Ripper Logo graphic. Who knows where else we might use this graphic, but we know it looks sweet on the Ripper and the colorway is a straight up vibe that we hope everyone enjoys! The Ripper is a great board for getting around town, throwing down some sweet manuals, busting some slides or just cruising the neighborhood with some friends.

DESCRIPTION

The Ripper shares a similar concept to the Dipper; It’s great for carving, cruising, commuting long distances, feels great for sliding and has a nice bouncy flex. This board is a little bit wider compared to the Dipper and we went with slightly wider truck options to follow suit. The 9″ width and subtle taper means that the Ripper has a lot of standing platform which gives your feet a lot of purchase making it quite comfortable for sliding. The larger standing platform in conjunction with the wider trucks give good stability and leverage. Lean deep into your turns on this board and enjoy nice long carves. The measurements are a 36.9″ length with a wheelbase of 24.9″. The Ripper comes complete with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for a nice low ride perfect for relaxing cruises, and 63mm Fatty Hawgs wheels to keep you rolling smooth and fast over all types of surfaces.

TRUCKS

Polar Bear 130mm

Some of us still like to ride a board that is a bit on the narrower-side. And, of course, you need trucks to match it. If you step down in board size then it’s time to step it up to the 130mm Polar Bears. Sold in pairs. Bushings: 85a is softer, 90a is harder. Softer bushings are more lively but less stable – with 88a being what we usually use in our completes.

WHEELS

63mm Fatty Hawgs

Made famous as the wheel of choice for our Dinghy completes, Fatty Hawgs are now available separately in a multitude of colours and patterns so you can upgrade your cruiser board today. We use the highest quality urethane to ensure these are the best cruiser wheels available on the market. Get a set and see the difference for yourself.

BEARINGS

SPACEBALLS

Spaceballs are our answer to all of your bearing problems.  Never again can you lose your washers, or spacers because we’ve built them into the inner race!  On the functional side, this means your bearings are always mated correctly which negates any bearing-induced chatter.

Fantastic all around longboard

The Ripper is my second longboard and I absolutely love it. It rides like a dream and is fantastic for cruising around which is what I use it for primarily. It’s stable on hills and carves like a dream. It’s a thinner board than the drop board I’m used to, but it makes it easier to slide which is a nice. Great all around board that will fulfill most of your needs.

I docked a star because the board shipped with a truck that clicked/popped when turning. I was able to correct it by jamming a bit of wax between the kingpin, but worth noting.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, the ripper is comfortable and capable board that’s well-rounded and fun.

Just like butter

I was 100% new to skating so this is the board I learned on and now I've put so many miles on it. It handles great and is lightly springy. It's an overall great experience!

I got it during the sale for 50% off and have 0 complains, more carvey than my switchblade and the narrow trucks are super fun.

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
