Ripper – Logo

Ripper – Logo

We decided that the Ripper needed a little more Landyachtz love, so we stacked up some letters and ended up with the Ripper Logo graphic. Who knows where else we might use this graphic, but we know it looks sweet on the Ripper and the colorway is a straight up vibe that we hope everyone enjoys! The Ripper is a great board for getting around town, throwing down some sweet manuals, busting some slides or just cruising the neighborhood with some friends.

DESCRIPTION

The Ripper shares a similar concept to the Dipper; It’s great for carving, cruising, commuting long distances, feels great for sliding and has a nice bouncy flex. This board is a little bit wider compared to the Dipper and we went with slightly wider truck options to follow suit. The 9″ width and subtle taper means that the Ripper has a lot of standing platform which gives your feet a lot of purchase making it quite comfortable for sliding. The larger standing platform in conjunction with the wider trucks give good stability and leverage. Lean deep into your turns on this board and enjoy nice long carves. The measurements are a 36.9″ length with a wheelbase of 24.9″. The Ripper comes complete with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for a nice low ride perfect for relaxing cruises, and 63mm Fatty Hawgs wheels to keep you rolling smooth and fast over all types of surfaces.

TRUCKS

Polar Bear 130mm

Some of us still like to ride a board that is a bit on the narrower-side. And, of course, you need trucks to match it. If you step down in board size then it’s time to step it up to the 130mm Polar Bears. Sold in pairs. Bushings: 85a is softer, 90a is harder. Softer bushings are more lively but less stable – with 88a being what we usually use in our completes.

WHEELS

63mm Fatty Hawgs

Made famous as the wheel of choice for our Dinghy completes, Fatty Hawgs are now available separately in a multitude of colours and patterns so you can upgrade your cruiser board today. We use the highest quality urethane to ensure these are the best cruiser wheels available on the market. Get a set and see the difference for yourself.

BEARINGS

SPACEBALLS

Spaceballs are our answer to all of your bearing problems.  Never again can you lose your washers, or spacers because we’ve built them into the inner race!  On the functional side, this means your bearings are always mated correctly which negates any bearing-induced chatter.

The Ripper Shreds

This board is and impressive cruser with a strong freeride side. I feel locked in at speeds and I can depend on my Fattyhawgs to slide when I want and to hang up when I need. I have found that it's not out of place at the skate park due to its traditional king pin set up. The main reason i love this board is because it is the perfect pump track board. I love the dingy, Ripple Ridge, and tugboat for the same reasons I suppose but it being so long leaves me with so much room for error along with the flex that relives the weight in my legs when ripping a turn in the pump track. This board has proven to me it can do whatever you want it to do as long as you keep it under 35mph

A Board for the Ages!

I've had 2 of these boards now, they really are a special shape. Long enough to cruise and even dance on, but nimble enough to do some freeriding and some decent carving. Platform feels great to stand on, love the tiny bit of concave features. I sent this board up with RKP 155mm trucks and it feels heavenly! I'd love to see what this board feels like without the slight W concave, and maybe a tiny bit smaller. I recommend this hard to beginners and intermediates, as well as advanced skaters looking for something genuinely fun but also versatile.

Read my review !!!

This board is fantastic. But giving it 5 stars is disingenuous

There is no perfect board out there. That's why I gave it 3 stars. Out of the 5 categories of longboarding (Cruising, Carving, Freeride, Dancing and Downhill), this board excels at 3

Cruising, Carving and Freeride

The TKP setup raises eyebrows because of its long wheelbase, but it makes for a quick maneuvering board that dodges obstacles and takes corners smoothly, all while being approachable to beginners

It soaks up bumpy pavement with ease due to the 63mm fatty hawgs wheels

The deck length allows freedom of movement and the kick tail gives comfort to those who need that last minute direction change

I recommend this board to anyone from beginner to expert because there is so much this board can do without being a specialized tool

Simple shape with practical features

After 20yrs of riding, this is my "go to" board now. It sits atop a long list of boards in my quiver because of it's quality components and design

Buy this board... Now I will give it 5 stars. If you read this whole review

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
