As a skateboard and Bicycle manufacturer who give a sh*t, we are in full support of ethical & sustainable logging practices and find the concept of needing to log old growth trees absurd! We are in full support of a moratorium on logging old growth trees in BC.
BC Coastal forests are considered old growth if they contain trees over 250 years old and some interior forests with trees over 140 years old. There is a finite amount of old growth forest remaining. We believe the logging of these trees is unnecessary and detrimental to our environment. We are not against logging. We are against logging of old growth Forests. Logging can be sustainable and healthy without killing these ancient, irreplaceable, beautiful members of our environment.
The funds raised from this event are going towards putting a stop to the logging of old growth trees. Please join us in this fight.
REMEMBER!
When posting, please tag @landyachtzbikes! & Use the hashtag #LYridefortheforest, because we won’t see your photos if you don’t!
