Dipper – Watercolor

Dipper – Watercolor

The Dipper is a pintail designed to bring the compact maneuverability of a cruiser board to a carvy, flexy longboard shape. This board gives you a tight-turning, responsive ride that will make weekday commutes or casual weekend cruises the highlight of your week. The narrow width provides you with incredible control over the edges of the board so you can ride this thing aggressively if you want to or take it easy on those casual cruises. Mellow concave and a subtle rocker will have you feeling right at home on this board. Often referred to as the “best board ever” at skate sessions.

DESCRIPTION

The Dipper is a compact longboard shape that measures 36″ long and 8.65 wide. It is similar to the Ripper, but even more compact for tighter carves and more agility. A slightly flexy ride and the long wheelbase give it a playful, surfy ride and lots of lean in carves. Mellow concave and a good amount of rocker will have your feet feeling at home on this board from the first ride. We set this board up with Polar Bear 105s for the most agile, responsive ride possible and finished it off with a set of 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs wheels to keep the board nice and light while still giving a fast, smooth ride.

TRUCKS

Polar Bear 105mm

Ideal for the mini cruiser that every skater needs in their quiver. The 105mm Polar Bears are strong, agile, and ready to grip the tightest turns. Sold in pairs. The harder the bushings, the more stable the ride but that results in less agility – our Dinghy, for example, comes with 88a bushings.

WHEELS

63mm Fatty Hawgs

Made famous as the wheel of choice for our Dinghy completes, Fatty Hawgs are now available separately in a multitude of colours and patterns so you can upgrade your cruiser board today. We use the highest quality urethane to ensure these are the best cruiser wheels available on the market. Get a set and see the difference for yourself.

BEARINGS

SPACEBALLS

Spaceballs are our answer to all of your bearing problems.  Never again can you lose your washers, or spacers because we’ve built them into the inner race!  On the functional side, this means your bearings are always mated correctly which negates any bearing-induced chatter.

Got it for the kids to learn on and they loved it. It’s really easy to control and lots of fun to ride. Now I probably have to buy a second one!

Probably the most comfortable skateboard I've ever owned

This thing really is like a magic carpet. I've had similar cruising longboards and pintails in the past but this one pretty much feels like what I wished those ones were. The very subtle rocker is just enough to make the board feel chill & relaxed but not so much to make your feet sit at an awkward angle or drastically change the truck response. It has a generous & comfy amount of flex that's neither too springy or soggy. Great amount of foot room without feeling huge. Overall I think I could say this is my favorite deck that I've ever owned in the 40-ish inch range, and I've been riding for 20 years. I have mine set up as a long surfskate with Carver CX trucks & Waterborne Living Water wheels. Feels absolutely amazing!

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
