Recycled Skateboard Pen

Recycled Skateboard Pen

Express your creativity while making an eco-conscious choice with our Recycled Skateboard Pens. These refillable ball-point pens are meticulously handcrafted from discarded skateboard decks at our Vancouver headquarters, breathing new life into forgotten materials and transforming them into functional works of art you can use every day.

These pens use a premium ballpoint tip with a replaceable cartridge meaning they will last you a lifetime. The high-quality tip and ink ensure a smooth and effortless experience whether you’re writing or doodling. The durable twist mechanism does away with excess moving parts ensuring a satisfying and reliable action for years to come while the hand-turned wooden barrel provides a comfortable and confident feeling in your hand.

The process for manufacturing these pens started as a labour of love for LY co-founder Tom Edstrand in his home workshop and has now been expanded to full-fledged production at our Vancouver, BC factory. We are always looking for new ways to use materials that would otherwise be destined for the scrap heap without compromising our commitment to quality. We’re proud that each one of these pens is handmade in Vancouver alongside our skateboards and bike saddles as part of our effort to support local manufacturing.

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve.

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
